When Rick* came to us through the SSVF program, he was homeless and living at Keystone Halls after having served for three years on Active Duty and in the Reserves. Rated at 90 percent disabled by the VA, Rick had not worked since his medical discharge from the Army in 2009.
We assisted Rick with filing a claim for Total Disability due to Individual Unemployability (TDIU) due to his inability to work as a result of his service-connected disabilities. The application included a personal narrative of his disabilities and how they prevent him from working.
The VA recently approved the application, increasing his monthly payment amount from $1,833 to $3,057.
