Each year, Legal Aid Service of Broward County (LAS) and Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA) contemplate a variety of ways to help families in need. The recent holiday season enabled us once again to assist the low income members of our local community through the continuation of our annual Holiday Adopt-A-Family Project.
This year’s collaborative effort was a wonderful success due to the outstanding generosity of 26 adopters consisting of individual attorneys, law firms, families, and organizations outside of the legal community. Owing to their willingness to assist, 42 families benefitted, including 104 children, 10 senior citizens and 5 veterans. Adopters helped make this holiday season memorable by giving toys, clothing, gift cards, and holiday dinners for the families. Along with these gifts, $1,800.00 was raised in monetary donations.
In addition to the exceptionally generous parties listed below, we would like to heartily thank U.S. Legal Support for their ongoing commitment in making us a valued partner collecting donations for us at their annual holiday party. This year we received $1600 to help purchase gift cards and aid in brightening the lives of so many this Holiday Season.
