Every $1 invested in CCLA programs returns $7 in economic benefits to the community

Why Donate to CCLA?

Every year Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida provides critical legal assistance to thousands of low-income residents of Broward County who could otherwise not afford it. Still, 85% of those in need of legal assistance go unserved due to a lack of funding and resources. Donations from members and caring individuals in the  community play a major role in our work assisting victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and families and seniors in need of public assistance or facing foreclosure.

Donate securely online – your tax-deductible gift will help Broward County’s underserved communities get the free civil legal services they so desperately need!

  • There is 1 full-time CCLA attorney for every 5,600 people in need

  • Florida is home to the third largest population of Veterans
  • Approximately 15% of Broward residents lack health insurance; 44% of our clients are uninsured
J Lipmann

“We know that there are never going to be enough lawyers, and we do not have enough money to serve everyone with a legal issue. However, I am working hard to be one of the agents of rapid, effective, and high impact change. I have gained many personal benefits from doing pro bono work, but most importantly, doing this work reminds me why I chose to be a lawyer in the first place. The personal reward gained from donating my time and money far outweighs any amount I could ever give.”

Other Ways to Give

In Memoriam: Make a donation in memory of a loved one or friend. To make a secure, check or online, tax-deductible donation contact ccladevelopment@legalaid.org

Cy Pres Awards: In class action lawsuits a fund is created for payment of damages. After class members’ claims are paid, there often are residual funds remaining. Under the doctrine of Cy Pres, judges and class counsel can recommend that residual funds be awarded to fund legal service programs. To learn how to nominate CCLA as a Cy Pres Awards recipient, please contact ccladevelopment@legalaid.org

Shop Amazon Smile: When you shop at smile.amazon.com you’ll find the exact same prices and shopping experience as Amazon.com, however Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to CCLA. You use your regular Amazon.com account so your shopping cart, lists, and account settings remain the same. To shop, go to smile.amazon.com and select Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida.

GivingTuesday: The average #GivingTuesday donation across charities nationwide last year was $140. While no gift is too small, we are calling on members of the community to “raise the bar” by encouraging a minimum donation of $150 to CCLA this #GivingTuesday – November 29, 2022. Donate today!
