Jeff Hittleman is the Supervising Attorney for the Senior Citizen Law Project. He oversees the delivery of free legal services to seniors in various areas of law, including landlord-tenant disputes, foreclosure defense, consumer rights, immigration, elder abuse and exploitation, and health and public benefits law. Previously, Jeff served as the Project’s Lead Housing Attorney, specializing in eviction defense and protecting tenants’ rights in federally subsidized housing. Jeff led the award-winning Senior Citizen Continuum of Care Project, which has successfully prevented over 500 seniors from becoming homeless since its inception in 2018.
In 2016, Jeff joined Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida. He began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and a J.D. from the University of Florida, completing his law degree in 2012. Jeff is a member of both the Florida Bar and the Broward County Bar Association. Since 2020, Jeff has served as the Co-Chair of Florida’s Housing Umbrella Group (HUG), a statewide association of over 150 legal aid and public interest housing lawyers dedicated to protecting the rights of low-income renters and preventing imminent homelessness.
Early on, his commitment to Legal Aid was evident, as he completed four summer internships with Legal Aid Service of Broward County while in school. Originally from Broward County, Jeff was born and raised in the community he serves.
