Mindy Jones is Director of Compliance & Programming and Director of the Family Law Unit at Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA). Mindy has been representing victims of intimate partner violence in Broward County for over twenty years. She provides holistic legal services to victims and survivors for all of their civil legal needs.
Recently, Mindy completed her fourth term as President of the Broward Domestic Violence Council, an organization dedicated to reducing incidents of domestic violence in our community. She conducts training for various organizations throughout the state and county about intimate partner violence and stalking.
Mindy has served as co-chair of the Children’s Services Council Domestic Violence Prevention Strategic Plan Committee and has served on the board of the Broward Victim’s Rights Coalition. Mindy is also a long-time member of the Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team, which reviews domestic violence related homicides in Broward County and makes recommendations to the statewide coalition against domestic violence in an effort to prevent domestic violence homicides.
Mindy was recently awarded the 2019 Community Leader Award from the Broward Domestic Violence Council, the 2020 Ending Abuse Award from Jewish Family Services, the 2022 Florida Legal Award for Unsung Hero from the Daily Business Review, and the Broward County Bar Association’s 2022 Lynn Futch Professionalism Award. Mindy graduated from college and law school at the University of Florida and earned a Masters of Law at Cardozo School of Law in New York.
