Mindy Jones is Director of Programs & Compliance and Director of the Family Law & Victims of Crime Unit at Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA). Mindy is part of the management team, overseeing CCLA’s programs. She has been working with legal aid organizations since the beginning of her career, advancing the mission of equal access to justice for all. Prior to becoming Director of Programs & Compliance, Mindy represented victims of intimate partner violence in Broward County for over twenty years. Mindy supervises a team of attorneys and paralegals providing holistic legal services to victims and survivors of intimate partner violence, survivors of human trafficking, and seniors who are victims of crime. Our CCLA Family Law & Victims of Crime Unit addresses all of a victim’s civil legal needs to help make families safer and more stable.

Mindy is active in the Broward County community. She served five terms as President of the Broward Domestic Violence Council (BDVC), an organization dedicated to reducing the incidence of domestic violence. She conducts trainings for various organizations throughout the state, and county, about intimate partner violence, injunctions for protection, family law, and stalking. Mindy served as co-chair of the Children’s Services Council’s Domestic Violence Prevention Strategic Plan Committee and has served on the board of the Broward Victim’s Rights Coalition. In addition, Mindy is a long-time member of the Broward Domestic Violence Fatality Review Team, which reviews domestic violence related homicides in Broward County and makes recommendations in an effort to prevent domestic violence homicides. She was a founding member of, what is now, the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition. In addition, Mindy served on the Florida Bar’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit’s Grievance Committee and is a member of the Florida Bar and Broward County Bar Association.

Mindy was awarded the 2022 Florida Legal Award for Unsung Hero from the Daily Business Review, the Broward County Bar Association’s 2022 Lynn Futch Professionalism Award, the 2020 Ending Abuse Award from Goodman Jewish Family Services, and the 2019 Community Leader Award from the BDVC.
