Shayna Finkelstein, Esq.

Shayna Finkelstein has always had a deep commitment to public service. In 2010, while an undergraduate, she completed internships at the Broward County Office of the Public Defender and Three Rivers Legal Services in Gainesville. While in law school at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, she completed Certified Legal Internships at the Offices of the Public Defender for both Broward and Alachua Counties. She began her professional legal career as an Assistant Public Defender in Miami-Dade County in their Domestic Violence Unit. This is where Shayna first learned about the impact of domestic violence on victims and their families.

Since 2018, Shayna has represented and advised victims of intimate partner violence for their injunctions for protection, divorces, and paternity actions with Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida. In 2020, she expanded her practice to include representing seniors (age 60 and older) who are victims of crime. As a Supervising Attorney for the Family Law and Victims of Crime Unit, she supervises and supports Unit staff providing holistic and trauma-informed legal representation to victims. Through her position at Coast to Coast Legal Aid, Shayna remains committed to empowering victims to pursue the legal rights to which they are entitled and the legal remedies for which they deserve.
