Over the course of her career as a Public Defender, she had the opportunity to try several cases and to work in Domestic Violence Court and Mental Health Court, which is where she found her passion for holistic representation. Working for the Public Defender’s office provided her with extensive trial experience allowing her to develop her skills in oral argument and motion practice.
Shayna is a “double-gator” receiving both her undergraduate and her law degree from the University of Florida. Shayna is a member of the Broward Domestic Violence Council, and the Domestic Violence Prevention Subcommittee, as well as the Broward Victim’s Rights Coalition. Shayna has always been passionate about helping individuals who could not afford to retain an attorney to represent their needs, rights, and interests. As a proud member of Coast-to-Coast Legal Aid of South Florida, Shayna is committed to its mission of helping those in the community who need our help the most.
