Story of Justice: Laura*

Laura has been the victim of domestic violence. She endured regular abuse during her relationship and finally separated from her abuser in 2018. Unfortunately, even after the separation, her ex-boyfriend continued to abuse and stalk her. She has two children; one child’s father is her abuser. Both children were present for the abuse and were also victims of physical and verbal abuse by their father/step-father. CCLA is representing Laura to defend against her abuser’s Motion to Vacate her FInal Judgement of Injunction for Protection (restraining order). Laura has had to miss work countless times to attend court hearings therefore not making ends meet. Somehow she has managed to remain positive through this tough time and hopes to give her kids a joyful holiday. Laura was adopted by a generous member of the community at our adoption event.
