Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA) is a great place to work! You could help us fulfill our mission to provide equal access to justice for all. CCLA offers a generous benefits package. Loan Forgiveness

CCLA attorneys may also be eligible for the Florida Bar Foundation’s Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) beginning their first year with us. Learn about it here. In addition, when you are employed by a not-for-profit organization like CCLA, you may be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF). PSLF forgives the remaining balance on Direct Student Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for CCLA. Accounting Manager

Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida, Inc. (CCLA) is a Legal Services Corporation (LSC) funded, non-profit organization. CCLA provides free civil legal services to low-income and other eligible residents of Broward County and is located in Plantation, Florida, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale. Our mission is to improve the lives of low-income persons in our community through advocacy, education, representation, and empowerment. We provide assistance in the areas of Family Law, Economic Advocacy & Community Health (public benefits), and Senior Law for clients age 60 and older. We believe all individuals are entitled to quality civil legal representation and equal access to justice, regardless of their income.

CCLA is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Manager to join our finance team. Ideal candidate will have Non-Profit experience. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, grant budgets, grant reconciliation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of professional staff.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for month-end close process, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Responsible for grant budgets.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify variances, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information, resolve issues, and support cross-functional projects.
  • Prepare documentation for external audits and provide support for audit inquiries and requests.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, highlighting areas of concern or improvement.
  • Contribute to process improvements and initiatives to streamline accounting operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Preparation of grant compliance.
  • Additional responsibilities assigned by the CFO or Directors.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • 1+ years of non-profit experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting is a plus.
