Profile in Good: Geraldine DeBianchi
Geraldine DeBianchi, Esq. is an attorney with Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida (CCLA). Geraldine leads the Mobile Justice Squad, a mobile division of CCLA that provides free mobile legal services to seniors 60 and older who are homebound, isolated, disabled or face challenges with transportation and reside in Broward County.
Funded by the Jim Moran Foundation and the American Bar Endowment (ABE,) the Mobile Justice Squad offers legal services in areas such as health and public benefits, housing and foreclosure defense, domestic violence, financial exploitation, and consumer matters. Geraldine travels to clients’ homes and to local senior centers using the Mobile Justice Van to provide a full range of legal services.
Ms. DeBianchi has nearly thirty years of private practice legal experience focused on general civil matters. She has long been an advocate for underserved communities and has spent much of her professional time handling pro bono matters. Geraldine also dedicates her time to philanthropic and community involvement with an emphasis on education and the environment.
Ms. DeBianchi recently served on the Cooper City Green Advisory Board, is a member of the Broward County Bar Association and the University of Miami Undergraduate and School of Law Alumni Associations. Geraldine is also a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ and minority rights, placing a premium on providing education and legal services to the most vulnerable in our community.
Ms. DeBianchi is a graduate of the University of Miami and also earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. She has four adult children – all college graduates from New York University, Florida State University, Villanova University, and Boston University.
